A Tribute to legendary Italian actress, Gina Lollobrigida is a two-part workshop series that introduces you to Gina Lollobrigida’s life and quick rise to stardom in the 1950s and ‘60s. In Part 2, Come September: An Award-Winning Performance In Hollywood, our Italian Cinema expert, Valerio Viale, will present and analyze clips from the romantic comedy, Come September (1961), in which Gina Lollobrigida earned a Golden Globe Award for the role of the high-class mistress Lisa Fellini opposite Rock Hudson. This workshop will be presented in English.
Valerio Viale is a screenwriter and journalist, a native of Rome, Italy, and now an LA-based, permanent US resident. A born cinephile with an insatiable voracity for movies, it didn’t take long for him to set his mind on a career in the film industry. Upon earning a Bachelor’s in Literature, Music, and Entertainment at La Sapienza University in Rome, Italy, Valerio obtained an MFA in Film and TV Script Writing at the New York Film Academy (NYFA), attending both New York City’s and Los Angeles’s campuses. His TV pilot script, TV spec script, and feature film screenplay have all won several awards and garnered international recognition. Recently, Valerio put to good use his expertise in Italian cinema and TV during his role as Synopsis Writer – Italian Content Specialist for Netflix, in charge of writing the English copy for all the Italian titles available on the streaming platform, including popular franchises, the likes of Gomorrah, SKAM Italia, and Under the Amalfi Sun.
