Join our dynamic Italian 303, a 10-week course designed for students with an established high pre-intermediate knowledge of Italian and who would like to understand the cultural nuances that make Italy so captivating!

This session will transport you to Italy as we explore:

  • Cultural Comparisons: Discover the fascinating differences between Italian social customs and those of America and other countries. From dining etiquette to social gatherings—understand the “why” behind Italian traditions!
  • Travel Like a Local: Master the art of decoding authentic travel brochures and blogs written by Italians. Learn the insider vocabulary that will transform you from tourist to traveler!
  • Command the Language: Perfect your ability to give and understand orders, recommendations, and instructions in Italian—essential skills for navigating any situation with confidence.
  • Coffee Culture Deep Dive: Explore Italy’s renowned coffee traditions! Learn to order like a local and understand the subtle differences between a ristretto, espresso, caffè lungo, and more!

Language Focus:

  • Master the imperativo in all its forms—informal singular and plural, affirmative and negative
  • Perfect your pronoun placement with imperativo commands
  • Conquer those challenging, irregular imperativo forms
  • Become fluent with direct and indirect pronouns, including the versatile “ci” and “ne”
  • Learn contracted forms that will make your Italian sound authentically natural
  • Master the art of “Mi raccomando” expressions

What if Class Has Started?

For our adult classes we can accept new students once a course has started on a case-by-case basis up to mid-way through the course.  If you join a course late, the course fee will be pro-rated so that you don’t pay for the lessons you missed before joining the class.

Textbook Info

For this course the textbook we will using is NEW Italian Espresso 2. You can purchase the books along with your course at the time of registration or you can purchase them from our bookstore at a later date.
