Lentil Soup Brings Good Luck

Every year, as I can recall, on New Year’s day (Capodanno) at our festive table there has been a big pot of lentil soup. That recipe originated from my grandmother, who gave it to my mom, who passed it on to me and my sister. When I moved to the States I decided that I would bring at least one traditional “good luck” dish with me and my mom’s lentil soup took the crown.  For it to bring good luck, make sure to pick a few lentils from your bowl with your fingers and eat them (you can use a spoon for the rest of the soup!). Although I can’t guarantee the luck, I am sure you will thank me for this incredibly flavorful yet simple soup! Download my recipe. Happy New Year! Buon Anno a tutti! Lorena
