Full-Time Assistant Italian Professor at Colby College – Waterville, ME

The Department of French and Italian at Colby College is seeking an Assistant Professor in Italian for a continuing full-time position to begin in fall 2025. PhD in hand by the time of appointment. The successful candidate will be part of an energetic department committed to providing the best education possible to a diverse and talented undergraduate student body. The specialization is open. We are particularly interested in individuals with considerable experience in language instruction and teaching/research expertise in Italian culture across the centuries, with a focus on one or more of the following areas: language pedagogy, film studies, ecocriticism, women, gender and sexuality studies. This is a non-tenured and non-tenurable full-time position. The teaching load is five courses, at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels.
