The American University of Rome is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the July 2024 edition of the Professional Development Course for Teachers of Italian: Multi-Disciplinary Perspectives in Italian Language Teaching.
This 30-hour seminar, open to teachers of Italian of all levels (middle school, high school, university) as well as graduate students and teaching assistants, awards 2 graduate credits from The American University of Rome (www.aur.edu)
Course dates: July 8-12, 2024

Location: The American University of Rome campus in Rome, Italy
Language of instruction: Italian
Instructor: Dr. Flavia Laviosa (Wellesley College), expert instructor in the field of Foreign Language Education
Dr. Flavia Laviosa is an experienced foreign language educator and a certified ACTFL trainer and tester with extensive involvement in designing professional development programs for language instructors in North America and Europe. She has published widely on learning strategies in international journals.
This year’s course focuses on Psychology and Methodology in Italian Language Teaching and features the following topics:
Creativity in the language classroom
Social and emotional learning
Oral and written communication and proficiency
