Dickinson College is currently seeking a Visiting International Scholar of Italian for this coming academic year (2023-2024), beginning in mid-August 2023 and extending until May 31, 2024. In this position, the visiting scholar would hold a Masters degree (or equivalent), teach a 3-2 course load and participate in extracurricular activities within a vibrant Italian program. The scholar would also be available to meet with students as needed and participate in the general cultural life of the campus. The scholar would have the opportunity to work on their research and present it to our vibrant interdisciplinary faculty and students.
Dickinson College will provide a stipend in addition to fully paid furnished housing (including the cost of utilities) for the duration of the appointment. The College will also reimburse a maximum of $2,000 toward the costs of transportation to/from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for arrival and departure from campus. The visiting scholar would also be eligible to apply for travel funds to present at conferences. The College will sponsor a J-1 visa application and provide accident and illness health insurance which meets U.S. federal regulations for J-1 visa holders, valid for the duration of the program plus an additional 30 days.
