This brand-new, in-person summer course is designed exclusively for students who have completed Italian 201/202 and are ready to stop second-guessing themselves and start speaking. Over 10 weeks, you’ll revisit the grammar structures that matter most, like passato prossimo vs. imperfetto, reflexive verbs in present and past tense, possessives, and direct object pronouns (yes, including the famously elusive ne). But here’s the difference: you won’t just review them. You’ll put them to work immediately, in real conversations, real scenarios, and real Italian.

Speak first, worry later. The heart of this class is conversation. Each week, you’ll dive into authentic Italian material — magazine articles,  cultural commentary, regional traditions, food debates, Italian cinema, current events, and actually talk about them. Is the North-South divide still a thing? What does an Italian Sunday really look like? Who makes the best ragù? These aren’t textbook prompts; they’re the kinds of conversations Italians actually have, and soon, so will you.

Games, roleplays, and zero boredom. Quizzes, games, and immersive roleplays are woven throughout every lesson. Argue over a restaurant bill in Italian. Negotiate a train ticket. Gossip (tastefully) about a fictional Italian neighbor. These aren’t just fun! They’re the fastest path to fluency, because real language sticks when you’re laughing, competing, and thinking on your feet.
