Join local Italian chef, Francesco Allegro, for an in person one-of-a-kind, hands-on adventure for kids ages 6 to 11 years old will become veri scienziati dei sapori, real flavor scientists, as they journey through the extraordinary world of Italian herbs! Did you know that basil doesn’t just taste like basil? There’s a chocolate basil that smells like a dream and a lemon basil that will make your taste buds do a happy dance  and we dare you to tell the difference! Every leaf tells a story. Every sniff is a clue. Every taste is a tiny trip to Italy. This is not your ordinary workshop, it’s a sensory expedition where the garden meets the kitchen, and Italian comes alive on your tongue! During this workshop, children will taste fresh herbs alongside a selection of simple, traditional Italian ingredients including bread, tomatoes, salt, and olive oil. These items are used in combination to explore how herbs interact with real food. Please note before registering: this workshop may not suitable for children with food allergies or sensitivities to any of the listed ingredients.

What You’ll Learn:

• Smell, touch, and taste their way through an array of incredible Italian herbs
• Identify and compare herb flavors sweet, citrusy, spicy, earthy, and even chocolatey
• Learn the Italian names for herbs including basilico, rosmarino, menta, salvia and more
• Become flavor detectives matching scents and tastes like true esploratori
• Experience the wonder of how Italian cooks have used herbs for centuries to create some of the most beloved food in the world
