Join us for our summer Italian conversation course “Il Circolo dei Sogni” (The Circle of Dreams)! This 6-week course is designed for pre-intermediate and intermediate students who want to improve their Italian conversation skills in a relaxed and engaging environment.

Each week, we’ll explore a different theme related to life’s dreams and desires, using short readings and stories as starting points for lively conversations. The main goal is to get you talking, sharing, and dreaming… all in Italian!

Weekly Program:

Week 1: CIBO IDEALE (Ideal Food)

We’ll explore the world of Italian cuisine and beyond. What’s your favorite dish? What would your ideal restaurant be like? We’ll share family recipes and discuss culinary traditions that fascinate us most.

Example discussion question: “Se potessi mangiare solo un piatto per il resto della tua vita, quale sarebbe?” (If you could eat only one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?)

Week 2: VIAGGIO IDEALE (Ideal Journey)

We’ll embark on an imaginary journey to dream destinations. Where would you go if you could go anywhere? What experiences do you look for when traveling? We’ll share travel anecdotes and plan the perfect itinerary together.

Example activity: “Descrivi il tuo viaggio perfetto in tre frasi.” (Describe your perfect trip in three sentences.)

Week 3: LAVORO IDEALE (Ideal Job)

If you could choose any career, what would it be? We’ll discuss our professional aspirations, hidden talents, and what a perfect workday would look like according to each of us.

Vocabulary focus: Professional settings, career paths, and workplace expressions in Italian.

Week 4: AMORE IDEALE (Ideal Love)

What does ideal love mean to you? Through poems, songs, and short stories, we’ll explore different aspects of love and relationships, sharing personal thoughts and reflections.

Cultural element: Italian love songs and romantic expressions you won’t find in textbooks!

Week 5: CASA IDEALE (Ideal Home)

What would your dream home be like? Where would it be located? We’ll discuss architecture, interior design, and what makes a house truly a “home.” We’ll design spaces that reflect our personalities.

Fun activity: “Disegna e descrivi la tua casa dei sogni.” (Draw and describe your dream home.)

Week 6: VITA IDEALE (Ideal Life)

In the final week, we’ll put all the elements together to imagine an ideal life. What are your priorities? What makes you happy? We’ll reflect on personal values and how to balance dreams with reality.

Culminating discussion: “Come sarebbe la tua giornata perfetta dalla mattina alla sera?” (What would your perfect day look like from morning to evening?)

In each lesson, we’ll start with a short reading or story that introduces the week’s theme. This will be followed by conversation activities, role-plays, and group discussions in a welcoming, non-judgmental atmosphere.

Don’t worry about making mistakes – that’s how we learn! Our instructor will guide the conversations and provide gentle corrections when needed, but the focus is on communication, not perfection.
