Description

Parlo Italiano 5 is our most advanced-level Italian immersion course, thoughtfully designed for passionate young linguists ages 7 to 11 who are ready to refine their language skills and deepen their connection to Italian language and culture. This online course requires a 30-week year-long commitment to be able to  build on prior language foundations and provide students with a fully immersive environment to grow fluency, confidence, and cultural awareness. This course is ideal for students who have successfully completed Parlo Italiano 4, are currently enrolled in an Italian dual-immersion elementary program, or have demonstrated comparable proficiency with instructor approval.

Throughout the year, students will significantly expand their communicative abilities through interactive conversations, meaningful writing, authentic reading materials, and engaging cultural experiences. Lessons are taught entirely in Italian, creating a rich immersive experience that accelerates fluency and strengthens real-world language use. Learners will explore complex grammatical structures, develop a more nuanced vocabulary, and enhance their reading comprehension and analytical thinking. They will also refine their writing through a variety of formats and contexts, while continuing to strengthen pronunciation and natural speech patterns. A strong emphasis on Italian culture and traditions helps students build cultural competence alongside their language skills. All enrolling students must already be able to read and write in English, as these skills are essential for supporting advanced literacy in Italian. This course offers an enriching, challenging, and rewarding next step for students ready to embrace the full depth and beauty of the Italian language.
