Italian AP® Prep 1

Description

Italian Advanced Placement Prep 1 is the first step in a focused, two-part pathway designed to prepare high school students for success on the AP® Italian Language and Culture Exam. This 14-week online course, offered every September, is ideal for students who already speak Italian at an intermediate level or above and are planning to take the AP® Exam in May. Taught by experienced instructor Valeria, this course helps students build the academic language skills needed for AP®-level work. Emphasis is placed on strengthening grammar, mastering complex sentence structures, expanding vocabulary, and refining both written and spoken expression. Students will also work on improving their reading and listening comprehension through authentic materials that reflect the exam’s themes and cultural contexts. In addition to language development, students will begin practicing the types of tasks and formats featured on the AP® Exam—such as interpretive communication (audio and print), interpersonal writing and speaking, and presentational writing and speaking. By the end of this course, students will be well-prepared to enter AP® Prep 2, offered every January, which focuses on targeted test strategies, full-length practice exams, and in-depth review of all six AP® themes.

Previous knowledge of Italian is required. To ensure proper placement, please contact us to request a language assessment before enrolling.

    • Student Exam Registration Option 2: If your school does not offer the exam and you live in the Los Angeles area, you can register to take the exam at a high school in Glendale, CA.
