Italian Book Club

This Italian book club for advanced Italian students focuses on improving language skills while discussing literature with peers. The course is an opportunity to practice comprehension and conversation skills in a supportive and interactive setting. It also provides a deeper understanding of the culture and context in which the book was written. Students will read the novel “Lacci” (Ties) by Domenico Starnone and will discuss its troubling plot, controversial characters, and themes. Domenico Starnone is a journalist, writer, and screenwriter who won several prestigious awards. The popularity of this novel turned it into a very successful homonymous movie featuring several famous Italian actors. Your teacher is Valeria.
