Description
Latin is not a dead language! Sure, nobody speaks it anymore, but everybody “uses” it, in one way or another, even without being aware of it. Think about carpe diem. Seize the day! It’s Horace’s aphorism, Robin Williams did not come up with it in the Dead Poets’ Society. It’s catchy and powerful: a clear invite to live every second of your life to the fullest. Just two words to synthesize ten hours of psychotherapy. Not bad for a dead language, huh? What about Tempus fugit, in vino veritas, quid pro quo, do ut des, etc.? There are so many! Be careful though, as “with great power comes great responsibility” Spiderman docet. DOCET, teaches, see? Latin. Latin and Latinisms are effective tools when used properly. On the other hand, there is nothing more dreadful than a quote used in the wrong place, even worse if it’s a Latin one. If you want to master these sophisticated language skills, join Barbara, our Latin and Greek language guru, in this fun and super engaging webinar on how to properly use Latin quotes and Latinisms in your everyday life! An appropriate use of Latinisms will make you sound cultured and polished, not only in the context of formal circumstances. It will reinforce your statements with confidence. Our webinars include the PDF of the presentation and the recording of the event which will be emailed to participants the day after the presentation.
